Notable among these are his training at the University Hospital of Valle in Cali, Colombia, and his participation in the Pediatric Surgery Unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He also completed a subspecialty in Chest Wall Malformations at Luis Calvo Mackenna Hospital in Santiago, Chile, and at the Children's Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
